It is only a few onces heavier and even the boss has started to like the long handle. It is better than my DeWalts and Makita grinders. lots of power in this grinder Although it's kind of bulky , and can't be operated with one hand, it is very smooth running and has lots of torque when you need it. Excellent grinder for the price.
