The magnified portion of the lense is perfect. My only complaint is that they are made for a fat face so there are gaps. Even with this drawback they are very good for my needs but maybe not as good for construction work with flying small pieces of debris. No issue dealing with the bifocal lines...you get used to them very fast (and I can see my tape!). Only one slight criticism: the cover for the glasses is great to have, but it is too small to cover both lenses completely. I have already scratched the outside edges of the lenses while they were in the cover hanging on my belt.
