Yes, this flashlight is a bit old fashioned and has some limitations I suppose. However, it is a useful light and I would rather have my spare 12 Volt Panasonic battery attached to something with a purpose than have it slowly dying in my cordless drill's storage case.

I plan on using this flashlight to make sure my Panasonic NiCad batteries have been completely depleted prior to charging them up again. It has a "low battery" light and should be just the thing to help me avoid charging my batteries pre-maturely and bringing on the dreaded memory effect. I know that idea may be a bit goofy, but it provides another reason to buy an old fashioned flashlight.

Perfect for me. Lots of light, good reach. I have a 24V Bosch light and a 18V Milwaukee and this light is my favorite. I also like using my batteries instead of letting them die from too little usage. PS - keep nicads in the house. Extreme heat (inside a car) or cold will shorten their lifespan.

Might as well buy this if you're buying the drill Average rating of 4/5Average rating of 4/5Average rating of 4/5Average rating of 4/5Average rating of 4/5
I purchased the 12volt NiMH drill (Best Drill I ever owned) You get two batteries so instead of letting 1 battery just sit around and die, put it into this flashlight. Another neat feature is that the flashlight has a low battery indicator. When you're using NiMH batteries, you want to make sure that the battery is completely exhausted before you recharge it otherwise you get the memory effect. Now with this flashlight, you'll know when it's time to recharge. That's reason enough to buy it.

Pros:

Very bright and spacious light. The color is a yellow/gold and the beam is wide and not focused like LED lights. The flashlight sits upright and tilts 4 ways. Not very heavy at all and feels good in your hand.

Cons:

The construction is plastic. Not really cheap plastic but the plastic is nowhere as nice as the plastic used on the drill. Also the handles don't have the gray rubbery grip like the drill. For $18-25 you can't ask for more.

Being that the flashlight is priced right, I would just pick it up since you already are given two batteries. It's not obtrusive at all. I was just expecting a dinky light but I was actually surprised at the quality of the light.

I give it 4 stars only because Amazon drops and raises the price by as much as $10. It's $18 now but I bought it last week for $25.
