4" x 36" Belt Sander with 6" Disc End Sander Description The 36" long sanding belt will handle both large and small surfaces plus inside and outside curves. Belt sander can be adjusted to horizontal or vertical positions (0-90 degrees). Includes a tilting table that locks at any position from 0-45 degrees for bevel sanding. Table can also be repositioned for use with sanding belt or end disc sander. Table (Die cast aluminum): 7 1/2" x 5". Sanding belt: 4" x 36". Sanding disc: 6" diameter (Die cast aluminum). 4" x 36" Belt Sander with 6" Disc End Sander customer reviews: quality Sander? I purchased this sander for it's price. When I plugged it in and started to use it the first thing I noticed was the Motor was not strong enough for anything above moderate to light sanding. I found out the hard way that the motor drive belt was not good. The Belt sits on a cast drive tooth pully and as I put a piece of 11ga. flat bar on it, I stripped the belt within a minute of use. You can also stop the motor by applying moderate pressure to the sanding belt. Having said that, I had to go thru Amazon.com in order to get a customer service number for the cummins parts department. Once I was able to get the email address, I sent a request to find out where I could purchase a new belt for the sander. I did get an immediate reply from a friendly customer service staff of the company however, the number given was a long distance number in which I had to call in order to place an order, You would think that a company such as a Cummins Industrial Tools who have been around for a long time would have something other than a long distance number and also that they would have a website for ordering replacement parts for their tools. overall, hmmmm... how should I put this, would not buy another one for the following reasons: 1. Quality is not so good. 2. Availablity of or ease of ordering parts to repair the sander is less than satisfactory. Received broken The item was poorly packed and was received with the plastic base broken and the starter key missing. We called the Company several times but were unable to to talk to anyone until after Xmas. We were told we would get a return label to ship it back. It took two weeks and several phone calls to finally get a label sent to us. We were finally able to ship it back with as much of the original wrapping as we still had on Jan 2, after New Years. We are waiting to hear from the company.
