Battery life is awful Average rating of 1/5Average rating of 1/5Average rating of 1/5Average rating of 1/5Average rating of 1/5
I am not sure whether I just got a bad couple batteries or if all Lithium Ion batteries from Hitachi are bad but the battery capacity on my batteries is AWFUL. I am operating under the assumption that they are defective because they are just too bad. One battery is essentially dead on arrival. It can only be used for short durations on light duty jobs. The other battery is only slightly better. It can drive maybe 30 screws (1.25") into OSB and ceiling studs. My 12 year old Dewaalt 14.4V driver can do that... that is why I bought the Hitachi drill/impact combo. I was drawn in by the pitch that said they were 1/3 the weight and 3 times the life of NiCad batteries. I hope Timberline (via Amazon.com) comes through and does the right thing on this.
