Proxxon 38642 SGM Power Carver Description
|
This tool takes the work out of your carving projects and can be used by all carvers, regardless of age or experience. Perfect for carving all wood types. The rapid cutting action of the SGM (12,000 cuts per minute) allows the ability to do fine work like adding details as well as roughing out. Cleanly carving with no dust and virtually no effort is ensured. The tool is exceptionally quiet, yet very powerful due to the permanent magnet motor. It is ideal for small to medium carving projects, working on furniture, reconditioning antiques, lino cutting, delicate paint removal and working on plaster of Paris. The ergonomic design and the light weight (only 1.5 lb) allow to control it very easily with one hand, only. The tool is very safe, as the reciprocating action does not start until the gouge is pressed to the wood. The unit has a fibreglass reinforced POLYAMIDE casing and features a multiple ball bearing construction in a die-cast aluminum gear housing. It comes with 3 razor sharp bi-metallic knives (each one U, V and flat shape) in a durable plastic case. The SGM also accepts a variety of Flexcut reciprocating chisels. Technical data:Cuts/min 12,000, Max Power 1/10 hp (60 W); Volts 110 - 120V AC, 60 Hz; Length 9 3/8'' (240 mm) w/o knife; Weight 1.6 lb (740 g) w/o knife;

Proxxon 38642 SGM Power Carver customer reviews:
|
Quick carving tool! The makers clearly intended you to 'make' your own handle for the tool-changing clamp; It's not easily used free-hand so a nice 3/4" dowel or other piece does the job.
This tool carves wonderfully - fairly quiet until you engage the hammer to start cutting.
