Factory Recon Panasonic 18V NIHM Cordless Hammerdrill combo Awsome!!! I just received the combo Pano 18V NiHM from Amazon.com and what a great deal considering they seemed to have raised the price..(probably Shipping cost increases). The combo included a hammerdrill....definitely a pro tool, a cordless Saw, two 3.5 APH batteries, Univer. charger and a seriously large case.
I tested the drill against two proffessional corded power drills and the Pano performed admiralably. I use my tools around the house doing DIY projects and probably will never put the tools to extreme useage like a proffessional. In my non scientific tests I use the hammerdrill by drilling into a solid concrete wall and it performed very well, driving the bit into the solid concrete as quickly as the corded Hammerdrill . I also drove large lag bolts into a piece of dried oak, also without any difficulties.
The Saw went through treated/marine 2x4's like butter. Both tools could use a LED for the Drill and a Laser guide for the Saw. The batteries charged within 60 minutes. I have been using the same battery with the drill and the Saw for two days now. This is why I decided to write the review. These tools are great. If they are going to malfunction - I and you will want to know now.
These are reconditioned tools so I am taking Pano's word that they have fully reconditioned these tools. So far I haven't had any no problems. I have been given a 1 year factory warranty. If they break you will know and they will get them back. I also love Milwaukee's tools and their 5 year tool warranty. However their 18 volt hammerdrill is not as powerful, nor could I have gotten the same deal that I got with these Panos.
The bottom line if you are a DIYer or a pro on a budget this is a good deal .
Oh yes the drill is heavy and larger than it's famous 15 V brother. The Saw is just right for me. I have large hands and can handle large tools without much problems. I will update at a later date. I will say this, based on my research and hands on experience with similiar tools and If you are a DYI, This combo may be an overkill. I like good quality and sturdy tools that is why I purchased the Pano. I will update later
