Rockwell RK5100K SoniCrafter 20-Piece Kit customer reviews: Great Christmas Gift Got this for my husband for Christmas. We are building a new house and so far it has been very handy for some small projects. The real test will be when we lay the travertine floor. For now it is very handy for the wood projects. SonicCrafter I was leery of this product at first since it looked too good on the TV ad. It's a sturdy device that does everything the ad says. I'm really impressed. This turned out to be a very handy tool for the house and garage. Good deal for the price, but has some problems. I researched every brand of these tools before buying a refirbished one. It works well and I use it a lot but the screw mechanism that holds the blades on really needs a better design. The end does get hot but its not unbearable. Be prepared to buy more blades. Sanding attachments are very poor quality, wear out quickly! Unlike most of the previous reviewers, I use this tool mainly for sanding in tight spots that my other sanders won't reach. The Sonicrafter has two attachments for this, namely a triangular pad and a smaller sanding "finger". Upon initial use these pads and the tool did the job very nicely indeed. However, I quickly found out that the backing and hooks on the pads wore off (!) after about 15-30 minutes of use. The problem seems to be that the pad itself (which seems to be some sort of rubber or plastic) can't take the heat generated and thus quickly melts, burying the hooks into it and rendering the attachment inoperable. The first time that this happened I bought the "heavy duty" version of the sanding tongue, only to find out that the lifetime of this was even shorter, maybe about 5 minutes of use! Clearly these attachments have to be re-engineered for this tool to be useful as a sander. ITS NOT A FEIN It's not a Fein but for what I needed it to do it worked out perfectly
